Albert Lee Fletcher "Wesley" was born on April 24, 1956, in Doddsville, Mississippi to the union of James Henry "Judge" Fletcher and Armanda Fletcher. While growing up in Doddsville, Mississippi, Albert spent a lot of time with his grandmother Agnus G Coleman "Big Mama." At the age of four years old Albert moved to Caruthersville, Missouri with his mother. In Caruthersville Albert attended McCarthy R3 Elementary School. Here he also accepted Christ as his Savior. In 1966 Albert relocated with his family to Bakersfield, CA, where he attended Potomac Elementary School followed by Lincoln Junior High School and promoted to Bakersfield High School. On February 14, 1977, Albert married his first wife Doristene S Fletcher and out of that union they had two daughters. In 1978, Albert moved to Fresno, CA. In Fresno, Albert attended a custodial training program and became a Custodian. Albert worked for several hospitals and convalescent homes throughout the city. On February 13, 1980, Albert married his second wife, Telma De La Garza (Alcantara) and out of that union they had two daughters. Albert enjoyed working with his hands and learned many trades to keep him afloat. He loved working on cars, he was the go-to man to help repair your car inexpensively. Albert also knew how to complete electrical work, plumbing, and repair and remodel homes. Albert loved spending time with his family and helping others. He had an infectious laugh and was a big jokester. He never really took anything too seriously. In his free time Albert enjoyed being outdoors by taking road trips, riding motorcycles and camping. To know Albert was to love him. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. In 2002 Albert moved to Safford AZ, where he started a new life and helped raised his three youngest children. Albert continued working with his hands in mechanics and maintenance. INTERMENT Historic Union Cemetery 730 Potomac Ave Bakersfield, CA 93307 Please Gather With Us for the Repast at: RISING STAR BAPTIST CHURCH 3421 Wilson Rd Bakersfield, CA 93309 Poem THERE'S A BRIGHTER DAY THAT'S COMING There's a brighter day that's coming And it's just around the bend. Where our sorrows, trials and heartaches, And all tears come to an end. Though I know it seems unlikely When we're lost in deep despair, And we feel our faith is weakening, When no answers come from prayer. Yet, that point of feeling helpless When our hopes are nearly gone, Often is the time God answers- After darkest night... the dawn! So hold on a little longer, Trust God's wisdom and His care. While you may not feel Him working, God is always, always there! Yes, a brighter day is coming. Oh, my friend, you soon will see When the clouds their work have finished, Sun will smile on you and me! -Beverly J. Anderson ECCLESIASTES 3: 1-4 KJV To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; CELEBRATING THE LIFE Albert Lee Fletcher April 24, 1956 - November 20, 2022 FUNERAL SERVICE Basham Funeral Care 3312 Niles St Bakersfield, CA 93306 December 22, 2022 at 1pm
