It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Puente Cuellar (“Hela”), a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who touched the lives of all who knew her. Angela was born on August 2, 1927 in Sabinal, Texas to Gregorio and Theodora Puente, and lived a long and meaningful life of 95 years.
Angela met the love of her life, Pablo, in her younger years and the two were married, starting their own family of eleven children - seven boys and four girls. Angela was a kind and compassionate woman who always put the needs of others before her own. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a special talent for making everyone feel welcomed and loved, and her warm and caring nature will be deeply missed.
Angela was a devoted Catholic and her faith played a central role in her daily routine. She always put God first, saying "Primero Dios" as a reminder to prioritize her faith. In addition to her devotion to her faith, Angela also had a love for life and a desire to make the most of every day. She worked hard and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including camping, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Angela was a strong and resilient woman who faced many challenges in her life with grace and determination. She was a role model for her family and will be remembered as a loving and supportive presence in the lives of all who knew her. Angela was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pablo Cardenas Cuellar, as well as her daughter Rachel Cuellar, son Antonio "Tony" Cuellar, son-in-law Francisco "Pancho" Garcia, daughter-in-laws Margaret Cuellar and Delia Cuellar. Angela will be deeply missed by her children Paul Cuellar, Ruben Cuellar, Carlos and wife Monica Cuellar, Bertha and husband Daniel Cruz, daughter-in-law Linda Cuellar, Rogelio Cuellar, Anita Garcia, Amalia Cuellar, Manuel and wife Sonia Cuellar, Louie and wife Cynthia Cuellar, thirty-four grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by her family and all who knew her. Mom, “Madrecita Querida,'' we were blessed with your 95 wonderful years of life. Thank you for loving and supporting us, but most of all, giving us life. You will be dearly missed, but always in our hearts.
