Ayden Maddex Richards
Our hearts are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our son, brother, grandson, great grandson; Ayden Maddex Richards who was Born on December 28, 2007, in Bakersfield, Ca. to Alexzandra Alyssa Gamboa & Patrick Scott Richards. Ayden passed June 1, 2023. Ayden lived a life with many challenges in his 15 years, being physically challenged with spastic quadriplegia, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and dysphagia, asthma etc. He was a student at KCSOS. He attended Teresa Burke Elementary, McKinley Elementary, Donald E. Subaru Elementary and was in the process of being enrolled at Liberty High School. He was a client of Junior Blind of America, Terrio Kids Therapy and the Center for the Partially Sighted. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where he enjoyed his first Vacation Bible School and was a part of their Special Needs Ministry, in which he was able to complete all of his sacraments. He played assisted sports with The League of Dreams, where he enjoyed Basketball, Baseball, and Bowling. He enjoyed having his dad, brother Carson and grandpa Roger as his angels. He also enjoyed being a part of his moms fitness endeavors and the Pound fitness community and was his brother Carson’s biggest fan. Ayden had physical limitations but his family made sure to assist him and include him in so much. He was known as the life of the party wherever he went, smiling and dancing at all of his families celebrations, there were many. He loved the beach and his family made sure to get his toes in the water on many occasions, even using a surfboard to pull him onto the beach once. One thing about Ayden, he loved motion. He loved to dance in his chair or when his mom carried him in her arms he would kick his legs and laugh hysterically. He had an infectious beautiful laugh that brought joy to the hearts of so many. Despite his obstacles in life, he experienced to the best of his abilities swinging, skating, zip lining, playing video games, bouncing in a bounce house, playing music, hitting a piñata, playing hide and go seek with his cousins. He had prayer angels everywhere he went and felt the love of so many. If Ayden’s life stood for anything it stood for finding great joy in life’s little moments, as Ayden became a teenager, he welcomed two more siblings; Liam & Lainey, (mom). He created many great memories with them and loved them very much. He attended his 2nd Major League Baseball game last summer and witnessed 2 Mike Trout Home-runs, and his Angels win! Ayden is preceded in death by his grandfather Roger Richards. He is survived by his parents, brothers and sister, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and many beloved family. On behalf of the family, we’d like to thank the staff at National Seating & Mobility, the nurses and staff at Hoffman Hospice’s Starlight Program, all of his specialists and care team at Valley Children’s Hospital and the League of Dreams staff & families. Special thanks and the most sincere gratitude to Ayden’s great grandmother Sally Arismendez (nana).
