Duke Eddie Perry

December 24, 1955 — December 25, 2022

Duke Perry, beloved husband, father, and papa went to Heaven on Sunday December 25, 2022. Duke was born on December 24, 1955 to Herbert and Pauline Perry. He was the youngest of seven children. Duke just turned 67 years old before returning to the Lord. He graduated from Arvin High School in 1974, where he met and later married his sweetheart Vicki. Duke worked at Guimmara Winery until 1976. Then, he started working at Granite Construction Company as a laborer, then an operator, and later retired as a foreman. He retired from construction after 35 years. Duke was a strong and straightforward man. He spent numerous days a week golfing with his buddy, Ted. If he was not on the links you could find him on the recliner watching any and every sport on TV. If not sports, he would be enjoying an old western film. With all these things that he cherished, the most important thing to him was his family. Over the years, he was grateful and blessed to watch his family grow. Duke loved to listen and see his kids and grandkids, especially when they were laughing and having fun. Duke is survived by his beautiful wife and best friend of 45 years, Vicki. Their 5 children Deanna (Kevin) Oltman, Leah (Matt) Friesen, Shyla (Jason) Wilson, Derek (Angela) Perry, and Jared (fiancé Courtney) Eyraud. Duke is blessed with 20 grandkids and 1 beautiful great granddaughter. He leaves behind 4 siblings Bob, Donna, Sis, and Linda, and numerous friends that he considered family. Duke is preceded in death by his father Herbert, his mother Pauline, his brother Dean, his sister Bev, and his beloved dog Rocky. Duke celebrated one last birthday, his 67th birthday, with his family at his bedside. Then he celebrated Christmas with Jesus. Duke would always say that he was, "Blessed coming and blessed going." Duke's Celebration of Life will be held on January 20th at 2pm at Ridgeview Community Church, 8420 Stine Road, Bakersfield, CA 93313.
