Emilia A. Martinez

Emilia Martinez Emilia A. Martinez was born December 28, 1943, in El Paso, Texas. She passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 79 in her residence in Shafter California. Emilia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Elias Martinez, her children; Mercy Aguilar (Tony Aguilar), Gina Martinez and Chris Martinez. She is blessed with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Elias Martinez, Jr. on June 6, 2012. Emilia was a devoted follower of Christ, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. She was always devoted to her family and church, St. Theresa of Shafter, where she was an active member and was devoted to prayer and teaching catechism. Emilia had many passions, the love and care for her family, oil painting and gardening. She was also passionate about her Native American Heritage and would travel annually to the reservation Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo in El Paso Texas, for the tribal feast. Family members and friends will remember her as a respectable, strong, humble, supportive and loving person. Her legacy will live on in those who knew and loved her, for she was a committed and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior.
