On April 17, 2016, Frank Robert Anaya left this world for eternal peace and went home. He was 87. Frank was born on June 7, 1928 in Bakersfield, CA to parents John and Carmen. In adulthood, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army, went on to be a brave and loyal soldier who served his country from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War and was awarded The Bronze Star. Later, he served his community and friends as a tax accountant.

Frank, eldest of brothers Henry, Richard, Joe, and Fred; and sisters Evelyn, Betty, Eleanor, Lolie, Juanita and Ventura; is survived by his four children that he fathered with his first wife Alicia Vidaurri; John, Sally, Ron, and Sylvia. He was also the grandfather of nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Later in life he married his second wife, Beverly Rangel.

Frank leaves behind a vast community of family and friends who loved him dearly. His wit, charm, and thoughtfulness will be missed by many.

Services honoring Frank's life will be held at Basham-Hopson Funeral Care (620 Oregon St.) on Sunday, April 24th, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery (30338 E. Bear Mountain Blvd) on Monday, April 25th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. For additional information please contact Basham-Hopson Funeral Care at 861-8200.
