Gregorio Florez Breedlove

February 2, 1989 — December 4, 2023

.

Gregorio Florez Breedlove, affectionately known as Greg, bid adieu to this world on December 4, 2023, in Sacramento, CA, at the age of 34. Born on February 2, 1989, in Bakersfield, CA, Greg was the progeny of Janet Florez and the late Greg Breedlove. As he embarks on his cosmic adventure, he reunites with his father, paternal grandparents, maternal grandparents; Stella and Dave Florez, and Uncle Robert Florez, who were eagerly awaiting his arrival.

In the game of life, Greg leaves behind his adoring mother: Janet Florez, and beloved "Minty" dog; his 'lil protege, Aries Cardenas; his partners in crime: Gaby Breedlove (sister), Tteya Matthews, Frank De la Rosa, Kris & Bryan Kahanu, Daniel Vasquez and Jun Kim . Adding to the mix are his caring uncle and aunts, Ray and Fran, Sandra Florez and Dorothy Jackman: along with his cool first cousins, Ryan and Micaela Hernandez, Matt Garcia, and the dynamic trio of Dean, Elsa, and Kris Florez. Greg's extensive tribe of siblings and cousins will cherish his memory forever.

Greg was no stranger to the pursuit of knowledge. He aced his early education at Richland Elementary in Shafter, CA, and C.L. Smith in San Luis Obispo, CA. Graduating with flying colors, he proudly donned the cap of Arroyo Grande High School after attending San Luis Obispo High School. Greg's thirst for knowledge led him to Cuesta College, where he earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, Certificates in Nutrition, Exercise Science, and Personal Training, before moving on to California State University, Sacramento, where he continued to expand his horizons and will be awarded his Posthumous Bachelor Degree in Nutrition.

Greg survived his Santa Barbara party years as a top sales person at American Eagle, Levis, and The Blue Jeans Bar, busting his tail in the demanding retail industry. Drawn in to help others be at their best, and looking beyond survival, he redirected his pursuits and went from "body-hurt" to body-work; by becoming a licensed massage therapist, which was the catalyst in his decision to enter the healthcare field.

When Greg wasn't busy conquering the academic world, he indulged in a plethora of hobbies that brought him immense joy. From shooting hoops on the basketball court, kicking around a soccer ball or working out at the gym, to traversing nature's beauty on exhilarating hikes; he found solace. Passionate, affectionate and always generous with his love and time, Greg's love for bicycling and motorcycles fueled his adventurous spirit, while his keen eye captured magical moments through photography. He was a football and basketball fanatic; cheering on his Chargers and Celtics; a music maestro, a culinary connoisseur, a comedy enthusiast, and even dabbled in the art of ceramics. Truly, with an eye for all things art, as well as his vivacious spirit, Greg stayed in contact with people all over the globe while enjoying video games and adding his phenomenal photographs from life's great adventures, to share with all of us on social media; Greg was a vibrant soul with a zest for life.
