Lino Cardoza was born in Mitchell County Loraine Texas September 23, 1936 to Francisco and Romana Cardoza (both deceased). Came to California on April 27, 1947 at the age of 10. He attended Fremont and Longfellow Elementary Schools, Washington and Lincoln Jr High Schools, and only Freshman Year at Bakersfield High School. He quit school to help support his family. He started working at Guimarra Farms in 1952. Married his first love Maria Martinez in 1956. They were married 66 years. He worked at Pacific Southern Foundries for 28 years and Local 220 construction for 14 years. He then went to work for Edwards Air Force Base while living in Boron, Ca. He lived there until he retired in 2000. He also loved his Gardening business. Lino and Maria had 5 children Lino Cardoza Jr (deceased 1969), Linda Christina Hernandez (deceased in 1994) (Arnold), Anna Liza Ruiz (Rolando), Marina Padilla (Mike) and Steven Cardoza (Dana). He Also raised twin Granddaughters Elena and Celina. They had 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Granddaughters. Lino was the oldest of 15 Children. Maria (deceased), Juanita (deceased), Pete (deceased), Mike (deceased), Reyes, Celia, Frank, Ernie, Angie, Jimmy, Alfred (deceased) Bobby, Ricky, and Danny.
He was president of Sociedad Juarez for 2 terms. On his free time, he enjoyed going to the Casino to play the slots. Lino was a very giving person with a big heart, he helped everyone who crossed his path. Everyone would call him a good Samaritan and a man of gold. Lino was always so positive, courageous and always offered words of wisdom. He was very well loved by many. He always wanted us to love and respect each other. Lino had many friends and compadres who were waiting for him in heaven.
Lino went peacefully surrounded by family on March 21, 2023. He will be missed by many. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the family and friends that have been by our side. Our extreme gratitude to Hoffman Hospice Care for everything.
