Louis Ray Britz

Louis Ray Britz, Jr., known to most as “Mick”, passed away January 30, 2023, at his home in Bakersfield, CA. 

Mick started his career at Jost Floor Company where he worked alongside his Dad for many years. In January of 1993, Mick began a new career at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy. After graduation, he reported to the Wasco State Prison-Reception Center, where he remained until retiring in October 2012.

Mick was known for his love of dogs (especially Akitas), cars, fitness, and in recent years became an avid fan of pickleball, playing at the local courts in Bakersfield. 

Mick is preceded in death by his wife Lanette, whom he was married to for 36 years, his father Louie and mother Dotty. Mick will be greatly missed by all those who knew and worked with him throughout the years.
