Odilia G. Estrada

December 25, 1930 — July 3, 2022

Odilia, affectionately known as Odi, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Odi, aged 91, was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Tia, and Nina.

She was born in Del Rio, Texas to Cirilo Gomez and Consuelo Faz Gomez. Together with her family, she moved to Bakersfield in the early 1940’s where she lived until the time of her passing. In Bakersfield, Odi was a Nutritionist with the E.N.E.P Program and served as a volunteer for the Loma Council for 30+ years.Throughout her life, she was a faithful volunteer and parishioner at San Clemente Mission.

Above all, she was dedicated to her family. Her family was the center of her life, and she loved nothing more than spending time with them. She married Joe Estrada in 1950and welcomed four wonderful daughters:Carmen, Patricia, Sylvia, and Cecilia. Together with Joe, they went on to have many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren whom they adored.

Memories with Odi include special time together cooking, and laughing. She loved to see her family gather at midnight as they celebrated her birthday Christmas day. Shehad a strong faith in the Lord, loved us all unconditionally, and will be greatly missed. A tremendous thank you to all who spent time and care with Odi.
