Paula Martinez Flores

Paula was the fifth child born to Guadalupe and Elvira Martinez. Paula was also a sister to Natalia and Antonia. Paula lived in Salinas, Ca. then moved to Bakersfield, Ca. in 1978 when her father bought Lola's Restaurant from our cousin Josie. The family all together worked very hard to keep the business going. A lot of people knew my Mom by Lola because of the restaurant. The day my Mom and Dad were married they respected their vows and stood together until the end. Before my Dad passed he told my Mom I want one favor! My Mom said yes, he said please take care of my kids if they need anything help them. My Mom agreed and kept her word until the end. My Dad and Mom were the best parents ever. They did a lot with us like camping, fishing, Great America, Santa Cruz Boardwalk, bbqing at the parks. They both worked all their lives to buy a house and my Mom loved nice things so she fixed the house her way. My parents loved to dance so on the weekends they would get all dressed up and go enjoy themselves. My Mom loved cooking and I do to. I loved being around my Mom, sister, and sister-in-law Esther. My Mom made the best homemade tortillas and tamales. Paula is preceeded in death by her Husband David Flores, Daughter Juanita Flores, and Guadalupe, and her two sons Tomas and Fernando Flores, Grandson Eddie Flores, and Granddaughter Unique Mendez. And proceeded also her two Brothers Pete and PeeVee and her Sister Chuey, Maria, and Juanita. She leaves to cherish her memories her Daughter Amelia Flores, and Son David Flores Jr. 14 Grand kids and 14 Great Grand kids. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Her family will carry with them always many memories of their Mother and Grandmother's sense of humor and all her never ending love and devotion for them.
