GARCIA, [Pastor] Pedro, Sr., “Pastor Pete”, passed away at the age of 83 years on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born on December 17th, 1939, in El Paso, TX to Manuel Garcia and Matilde Gonzalez. In 1942, his family moved to Bakersfield, CA where he attended Mt. Vernon Elementary School, Sierra Jr. High School, and Bakersfield High School.
Pedro, with his wife, Lupe, taught the Word of God. In addition to serving in Sunday school ministries, outreach ministries, and pastoring, Pedro along with his wife, Lupe loved others deeply and gladly practiced hospitality and opened their house to needy home-less families.
He was a gift to the church as a pastor, evangelist, and apostle—pioneering and developing recovery ministries and promoting Christian leadership and street ministries in Victory Outreach Church, New Beginnings Ministries, Greater Bakersfield Ministries, Oasis Christian Center, Tehilah Ministries, Revolution Church, Remnant Recovery Center, New Beginnings Recovery Men’s Home, and New Hope Family Worship Center.
He deeply loved his family including his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and also loved spending time telling stories.
He was a beloved brother, husband, father, father-in-law, brother-in- law, grandpa, uncle, and friend.
His fire and passion for Jesus Christ will be missed. Pedro has inspired a whole generation of brothers and sisters who share the same vision of reaching the world for Jesus Christ.
He fought the good fight of faith until the end. He finished his course. He has now gone on to his new heavenly home to see His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the heavenly family, among those who have gone before him—including his dear Lupe.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lupe Garcia, his father Manuel Garcia, mother Matilde Gonzalez, brother Manuel Garcia Jr. and sister Rosale Gonzalez. He is survived by his sister Juana Perez, his Children: Stephanie Garcia and children: Evangelina, Victor Jr and Quinlen; Adelina and Raul Moran and daughter, Angelica; Desiree and Bonifacio Camarillo and children: Serena, Lupita, Erica, Erianna, Erin, Christy, Samantha, Michael, & Bonifacio Jr; Michelle Pantaleon and children: Melanie, Cheyenne, Magdalena, Cipriana, and Chuy; Pedro Jr and Liz Garica and children: Karissa, Christopher, Adrian, Pedro III, and Mateo; Christopher, Anthony, and Isaiah Pitino, 17 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
