Salvador Covarrubias

Salvador Covarrubias, 67, passed away on August 28, 2022, at Poplar Ave. and Filburn in Wasco, California. He was born on December 21, 1954, in San Jose del Valle Nayarit, Mexico to Jose Natividad Covarrubias and Maria Ascencion Cortez. Salvador grew up in a small ranch Otates, Nayarit where he attended elementary school up to 4th grade. He came to California for his first time in 1976 to work mainly on the cottonfields. For the last 13 years or seasons, he worked as a truck driver for Young’s Commercial Transfer, In hauling tomatoes and other goods. Salvador married Maria Sanchez Pelayo, in 1978 Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and were happily married for 44 ½ years. Salvador was a member of the Saint John’s the Evangelist Church’s prayers Group. He enjoyed bicycling, gardening our own vegetables and herbs, home improvement, some mechanics, etc. Salvador is survived by his wife Maria of Wasco, his only daughter Monica of Bakersfield, California. His five sons, Eloy of Bakersfield, California, Salvador Jr. of Coalinga, California, Alfredo of Honduras, Adrian of Bakersfield, California and Gustavo of Wasco, California. His 9 grandchildren: Ethan, Sadie, Sebastian, Ivan, Lianna, Elisse Marina, Emma, and Luna. His brothers; Pablo (Aurora) Covarrubias of Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, Isidro (Tomasa) Covarrubias of Bakersfield, California, Jose Trinidad (Esmeralda) Covarrubias of Otates, Nayarit, Mexico, Hermelinda (Manuel) Rosales of Otates, Nayarit, Mexico Elisa Covarrubias of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Luz Covarrubias of Fresno, California. His 23 nieces and 22 nephews. Salvador was preceded in Death by his parents, Jose Natividad and mother Maria, his brothers: Juan & Rafael and his sisters Cecilia and Tomasa.
