Walter Miller Jr., passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, at the age of 86, in Bakersfield, California. He was born on March 3, 1938, in Coalinga, California, to his parents Walter Miller Sr. and Katherine Bradford. He was a proud resident of Fresno, California in his early years, where he accomplished many achievements, which included excelling as a football player at Fresno City College, in the late1950’s. Walter then went on to serve in the military for some time and completed his term honorably as an Army veteran. Soon after, boxing became his interest for several years. Shortly thereafter, he would start working at a local packing house as a butcher then moved forward to pursue a career with Carnation Company, retiring in 1996. He then went on to start his own business building furniture; displaying his wonderful creativity and craftmanship within the unique pieces he built. Walter was a somewhat shy and reserved individual. He truly enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, cooking, and outdoor activities. His unending kindness, unwavering integrity and love for his family and friends will be remembered and cherished. He is survived by his daughter, Cherree M. Miller; son, Walter Miller III and wife, Tikee Miller: grandson, Troy A. Scott III, granddaughter, Tiffany R. Scott; granddaughter, Torree R. Scott; brother, Lawerence Stell and his wife Mary Ellis;sister, Linda Stell; sister, Evelina Miller; sister, Yvonne Miller and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. As we honor Walter’s life today, we carry forward his spirit, his love for people and his belief in the power of kindness. May he live in our hearts forever.
